Description
Confined Space is a full-day, in-person workshop that addresses the most common issues with the safe entry and exit from permit and non-permit confined spaces. This training includes:
- a review of the confined space standard,
- types of spaces covered under the standard, and
- different entry procedures, necessary equipment, and air monitoring.
After completion, participants gain a better understanding of confined space hazards and methods to lessen the likelihood of accidents. A tabletop exercise assists participants in conducting hazard analysis of a space and determining the proper entry procedures. There will be a test at the end of the course.

Instructor
Scott Alquist is a 32 year safety professional specializing in construction safety, general industry safety and hazardous materials. Scott has completed the National Highway Institute “Train the Trainer” program and is an Occupational Safety and Health Administration authorized instructor. Currently, he is the Program Manager for Truckee Meadows Community College's Safety Center.
Dates and Locations

There will be a 1-hour lunch break and breaks throughout the day. Be sure to review NVLTAP's classroom COVID-19 requirements. The course locations are limited to 15 participants.
