This free 4-hour online course introduces the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) design requirements and guidelines for public rights-of-way. The course also discusses design challenges and options, based on engineering design guidelines, for engineers and designers. The course runs from 9-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. PT with a 2-hour break in between.

Familiarity with the U.S. Access Board’s draft Proposed Guidelines for Pedestrian Facilities in the Public Right-of-Way is recommended, but not required, prior to attending this course.
