Project bundling is a comprehensive and accelerated delivery solution. It:

• Streamlines design, contracting, and construction;
• Allows agencies to capitalize on economies of scale to increase efficiency; and
• Supports greater collaboration during project delivery and construction.

With passage of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), project bundling becomes even more relevant and important. The BIL specifically mentions project bundling and bridge bundling as alternative contracting methods for enhanced program delivery.

Local agencies and may bundle projects with other local or state agencies. For example, the San Francisco Bay Area Metropolitan Transportation Commission is encouraging member agencies to bundle paving projects to expand treatment options not feasible in small quantities.
