This course introduces the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) design requirements and guidelines for public rights-of-way. The course also discusses design challenges and options, based on engineering design guidelines, for engineers and designers.

Familiarity with the U.S. Access Board’s draft Proposed Guidelines for Pedestrian Facilities in the Public Right-of-Way is recommended, but not required, prior to attending this course.
