Course Description:
This course is based on Part 6 of the 2023, 11th edition of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).

Topics may include:

• Fundamental Principles of Traffic Control
• Elements of Temporary Traffic Control Zones
• Worker and Road User Safety Considerations
• Temporary Traffic Control Devices
• Temporary Traffic Control Activities
• Typical Applications for Local Agency Work
• Traffic Control for Incident

One year of field experience is recommended, but not required for this course; however, completion of the “LTAP Mini-Workshop with Flagger“ is recommended in order to understand the concepts presented in this course. This course does not qualify as a required certification for contractors under DOTD Rules.

Course Fees & Cancellations:
$35 for Public Agencies
$70 for Private Agencies

Fees include training materials, breakfast and lunch. Credit card payments are accepted through the online registration system and over the phone. Checks or money orders are also accepted.

Registration is required one week in advance of class. Failure to cancel at least 72 hours in advance or not showing up on the day of the class will be deemed as non-refundable. Participant substitution is available.
