DESCRIPTION:This course is scheduled for May 9\, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm PT through May 10\, 8:30 am – 3:00 pm PT\, 2024. \nA state-issued license to control pests and apply pesticides is required under Nevada state law. Licenses are issued by the Nevada Department of Agriculture. You must complete a general competency exam and a category exam prior to obtain the license. \nThis 2-day training prepares you to become a professional pest control applicator and pass the license examination. The class explains pest control and pesticide safety concepts. Topics include safe pesticide handling practices\, herbicide classification\, environmental protection\, and noxious weed control. It also prepares you for the G-4 (Terrestial Weed) category examination. \nThe training program is approved for Nevada Continuing Education Units (CEU’s). For license renewal\, twelve credit hours are required in a 4-year period. \nAttend this class if you prepare\, store\, handle\, or apply pesticides or supervise those who use pesticides. This includes: \n\nRoad maintenance and construction workers.\nCurrent pesticide applicators seeking Continuing Education Units (CEUs) or license renewal.\nGovernment agency personnel who need to obtain their pest control license.\n\nRegister

Join this class to discover practical tips for every level of the organization. \nThis two day\, instructor-led\, virtual workshop introduces essential components of tort liability and risk management to transportation workers. In two 3-hour sessions\, you will increase your knowledge of assessing and managing the risk of tort liability\, considering negligence\, documenting your work\, and preparing for court if necessary. \nYou will explore a variety of scenarios and case studies in this highly engaging and interactive class. Claims and lawsuit case studies include traffic control devices\, work zones\, roadside conditions\, roadway design\, and pedestrian incidents. \nBy the end of the course\, you will be able to: \n\nExplain the implications of tort liability risk for roadway agencies.\n\n(Key topics: tort\, duty\, reasonableness\, standard of care\, negligence\, and the four elements necessary for tort action to proceed to trial) \n\nDescribe the elements of the tort liability process.\n\n(Key topics: discovery\, depositions\, steps in a trial\, and handling contacts from outside the agency) \n\nIdentify at least five common roadway and pedestrian hazards and propose countermeasures for each hazard.\n\n(Key topics: tort liability risk\, enterprise-wide strategies\, personal responsibility and strategies\, and risk reduction techniques) \nThis training is recommended for transportation agency personnel who need to manage risk and may be involved in legal proceedings.
