Asphalt mix designs are extremely important for low volume\, parking lot mixtures. The importance of sufficient voids in mineral aggregates\, or VMA will be outlined with effective maneuvers\, both in the lab and field to achieve higher VMA. With larger area footprints\, unstable subgrades are common during construction of parking lot pavements. Therefore\, we will equip you with mitigation methods for dealing with poor subgrades\, combined with effective methods of in place density and appropriate compaction.

Rumble strips are a low-cost safety countermeasure that can reduce single-vehicle run-off-road and cross-center line crashes.
