Luckily\, leadership is a skill that can be developed through learning and practice. KS LTAP is happy to offer free webinar training on Key Leadership Principles developed by the Kansas Leadership Center. This series is recommended for all levels because we’ve learned that leadership is an activity\, not a position\, and anyone can lead – anytime\, anywhere. \nWhat makes the Kansas Leadership Center different? The principles and competencies covered at KLC can help anyone hone the skills needed to successfully confront problems in organizations and communities  KLC is different in that it focuses on helping people from all positions\, backgrounds and sectors learn the same four competencies of leadership. KLC has trained thousands of people worldwide around these four competencies\, which help people better diagnose problems and situations\, manage themselves\, energize others around a common purpose and intervene in ways that are more skillful and successful.

SUMMARY:PPRA Road Resource Webinar: Maintaining More with Less
DESCRIPTION:What happens to a community’s road network when\, immediately after expansion\, the country is hit by major economic downturn? \nLearn how Jerry Dankbar\, the Street Maintenance Superintendent of Roseville\, CA was able to maintain the city’s road network after miles of new roads were added to accommodate a growing population. This expansion was made just before the 2008 recession\, throwing budgets and resources into major uncertainty. \nIn conjunction with the story of Roseville\, presenters will demonstrate helpful tools and calculators found on RoadResource.org to better equip road managers in data-driven decision-making for road networks.  All are welcome to attend.

SUMMARY:National Center for Rural Road Safety Webinar: Core Module #2: Anatomy of a Crash - Understanding Human Factors
DESCRIPTION:This training is Core Module #2 for Level 1 of the new Road Safety Champion Program created by the Rural Safety Center\, NACE\, NLTAPA\, and WRTWC. To learn more about the program\, please visit https://ruralsafetycenter.org/training-education/road-safety-champion-program/. \nThis two-hour training will provide an overview of human factors principles and a framework for crash analysis. It will allow the non-expert in human factors to more effectively bring consideration of the road user’s capabilities and limitations into policies and practices. Knowing how road users interact with their vehicle\, the roadway and other road users can also provide useful insights to the process of crash analysis. A framework for crash analysis will be introduced that helps make best use of available safety data and supporting documentation to identify factors that contribute to crashes. Armed with that knowledge\, construction and maintenance personnel\, planners\, engineers\, public health professionals and law enforcement can work together to target appropriate countermeasures to help reduce injury crashes.
