SUMMARY:NVLTAP Evaluating Pavement Condition (Virtual)
DESCRIPTION:Date: January 27\, 2026 \nTime: 9:00–11:00am PT \nLocation: Virtual \nCost: $20 \nCourse Summary:  \nThis 2-hour virtual training provides guidelines for conducting asphalt pavement condition surveys based on the Pavement Surface Evaluation and Rating (PASER) methodology. PASER uses a single value to represent overall pavement condition. It is intended to be a consistent\, objective\, and repeatable pavement evaluation tool. \nLearning Objectives: \nDuring the training\, you’ll learn to: \n\nIdentify common pavement distresses.\nAssign appropriate PASER ratings based on observable conditions.\nIdentify suitable maintenance and rehabilitation treatment options based on condition survey information.\n\nIntended Audience: \nParticipants are encouraged to bring photos of distresses in their network to class. Anyone without a basic understanding of asphalt pavement distresses is also encouraged to complete a 10-minute primer prior to class. \nNote: This is the first in a series of trainings that support pavement management. This class is a prerequisite for Pavement Condition Assessment Field Training\, a 4-hour in-person training that explains how to conduct pavement condition surveys using PASER ratings. \n \n

SUMMARY:Rails-to-Trails Conservancy (RTC): Active Transportation Freeze - Where do Federal Active Transportation Grants Stand? (Virtual)
DESCRIPTION:Webinar: Active Transportation Freeze – Where do Federal Active Transportation Grants Stand?\nDate: December 4\, 2025\nTime: 11:00 am to 12:00 pm PT\nCost: Free \nContinuing Education Credits: Unknown\nOrganization: Rails-to-Trails Conservancy (RTC) \nSince early 2025\, RTC has tracked and reported decisions made by the White House and the US Department of Transportation regarding active transportation and advised trails\, walking and biking advocates as they have endured whiplash\, grant cancellations\, and ongoing uncertainties about frozen federal transportation grants. \nCongress rescinded $750 million in active transportation Neighborhood Access and Equity grants in July and the USDOT has canceled numerous trail\, walking\, and biking grants as part of its ongoing review that has left thousands of additional grants in limbo and potentially forced applicants to remove active transportation elements. Some localities have sued over cancellations\, and many are still in the dark regarding the future of their active transportation grants. \nJoin RTC for an online dialogue about the state of play on federal grant decisions through programs like RAISE and Reconnecting Communities. During this discussion\, RTC will share what they know\, pose questions and invite local partners to share their experiences. You will hear from a representative from the City of Albuquerque about their cancelled RAISE grant and actions they are taking to restore this funding.
