SUMMARY:Free Webinar: FTA Outreach to Tribes on Government to Government Training
DESCRIPTION:This webinar from the National Rural Transit Assistance Program is free to attend. The Department of Transportation aims to reaffirm its recognition of the unique relationship between the U.S. government and Indian Tribes. In addition to policy changes\, such as the recently proposed rule on the Tribal Transportation Self-Governance Program\, federal employees need direct training. FTA Program Administrators and Tribal Liaisons must be trained on how to work with Tribal transportation programs while recognizing the sovereignty and right of self-determination of Indian Nations.   \nThe purpose of this interactive discussion is for Tribal representatives to engage directly with FTA on Government-to-Government training needs. This webinar provides an opportunity for tribal participants to provide direct input and feedback on the development of Government-to-Government training programs for FTA Tribal Liaisons and FTA decisionmakers.  \nThe webinar will be moderated by Donovan Gomez of Hopi Senom Transit and Jenny Rowland of Big Woods Transit/Bois Forte Band of Chippewa\, current and former members of the National RTAP Review Board respectively.
