SUMMARY:NVLTAP Introduction to PAVER (Reno)
DESCRIPTION:Date: February 17–18\, 2026 \nTime: 8:00am – 5:00pm PT (both days) \nLocation: Aloft – Reno\, Nevada \nCost: $40 \nCourse Summary: \nDo you use\, or plan to use\, PAVER 7.0 to do pavement management? If so\, check out this two-day training series! It provides useful guidance and tips for navigating PAVER for all experience levels. \nPAVER provides pavement management capabilities to: (1) develop and organize the pavement inventory; (2) assess the current condition of pavements; (3) develop models to predict future conditions; (4) report on past and future pavement performance; (5) develop scenarios for M&R based on budget or condition requirements; and (6) plan projects. The two training sessions explain how PAVER supports these pavement management tasks. \n*Introduction to PAVER is an elective course of the Road Scholar Program. \nPlease note that you must attend both days of training to receive a certificate of completion. \n

SUMMARY:NVLTAP Evaluating Pavement Condition (Virtual)
DESCRIPTION:Date: January 27\, 2026 \nTime: 9:00–11:00am PT \nLocation: Virtual \nCost: $20 \nCourse Summary:  \nThis 2-hour virtual training provides guidelines for conducting asphalt pavement condition surveys based on the Pavement Surface Evaluation and Rating (PASER) methodology. PASER uses a single value to represent overall pavement condition. It is intended to be a consistent\, objective\, and repeatable pavement evaluation tool. \nLearning Objectives: \nDuring the training\, you’ll learn to: \n\nIdentify common pavement distresses.\nAssign appropriate PASER ratings based on observable conditions.\nIdentify suitable maintenance and rehabilitation treatment options based on condition survey information.\n\nIntended Audience: \nParticipants are encouraged to bring photos of distresses in their network to class. Anyone without a basic understanding of asphalt pavement distresses is also encouraged to complete a 10-minute primer prior to class. \nNote: This is the first in a series of trainings that support pavement management. This class is a prerequisite for Pavement Condition Assessment Field Training\, a 4-hour in-person training that explains how to conduct pavement condition surveys using PASER ratings. \n \n

SUMMARY:Nevada LTAP: Pothole Patching and Repair (Virtual)
DESCRIPTION:Using proper patching and repair techniques can improve structural integrity and restore rideability for pavements experiencing local failures. \nThis virtual 2-hour training compares partial- and full-depth repair techniques and the materials used to implement them. By the end of the training\, you will be able to: \n\nDescribe the types of distresses best addressed by each treatment.\nDescribe recommended materials and mixtures for each treatment.\nDescribe recommended construction procedures and key quality control activities for each treatment.

SUMMARY:NVLTAP: Pavement Marking Installation and Maintenance (Virtual)
DESCRIPTION:This course is scheduled for December 16-17 from 9:00am – 12:00pm PT (both days).  \nCourse Summary:\nThis 2-day 3-hours/day interactive virtual training explores the standard types and uses of pavement markings. It teaches how to prepare to install markings\, and then apply and inspect the work. The training also explores the value of a pavement marking management system\, and new and upcoming advancements in materials and equipment. \nYou will have opportunities to explore pavement marking resources—such as the MUTCD and a variety of local\, state\, and FHWA documents—and to use those resources to answer questions and make decisions that mirror on-the-job tasks. Be prepared to uncover valuable tips from across the country that your agency might use for installing and inspecting pavement markings\, and dig into the Nevada specifications\, plans\, and field inspection guides.

SUMMARY:Selecting the Right Pavement Preservation Treatments (Virtual)
DESCRIPTION:Once you have identified that projects are appropriate for pavement preservation\, the next step is to identify appropriate treatments and select the best option. \nThis 2 1/2-hour virtual training introduces a process for selecting appropriate preservation treatments. During the training\, you will learn how to complete each step of the process. You will also complete exercises to apply the process using real project information. \nYou are encouraged to bring information about preservation treatments used by your agency to share in class. This may include treatment costs\, treatment results\, or materials issues. Your experiences can improve the treatment selection process for everyone! \nBy attending\, you will learn to: \n\nUse pavement condition and other information to identify appropriate preservation treatment options.\nIdentify decision-making factors to select the best treatment option.

SUMMARY:Selecting the Right Pavement Preservation Projects (Virtual)
DESCRIPTION:A successful pavement preservation program is built upon an agency’s ability to select the right pavements for pavement preservation. \nThis 3-hour virtual training identifies core decision-making factors for project selection\, focusing on the types of distress and pavement/environmental conditions encountered in Nevada. The training also describes additional factors the agency can include in the selection process based on its pavement data collection program and pavement management software capabilities. \nBy the end of the training\, you will be able to: \n\nDescribe distresses common to flexible pavements.\nIdentify factors to consider when selecting projects for pavement preservation.\nDescribe the condition of a pavement using pavement data.
