SUMMARY:Nevada LTAP: Constructing a Quality Crack Treatment (Virtual)
DESCRIPTION:Date: October 13\, 2026 \nTime: 9:00 – 11:00am PT \nCourse Summary: \nConstructing quality crack treatments is essential in using an agency’s resources effectively and efficiently. This 2-hour virtual training teaches participants the steps to complete to obtain a quality crack treatment. \nLearning Objectives: \n\nSelecting the right projects and materials.\nConducting adequate crack preparation.\nApplying a treatment following best practices.\nInspecting the work.\nIdentifying and troubleshooting issues that arise during the project.\n\n*Constructing a Quality Crack Treatment is an elective course in the Road Scholar Program. \nIntended Audience: \nThis training is appropriate for anyone who constructs or inspects crack treatments\, including crack filling and sealing. There is a mandatory 10-minute online training participants complete prior to attending the web conference (see below). This makes the class accessible for all experience levels. \nPrerequisites: \nPlease complete the self-paced course\, Crack Filling and Sealing\, before the training begins.

SUMMARY:NAPA: Balanced Mix Design for Airfield Pavements: Service-Temperature Cracking Potential (Virtual)
DESCRIPTION:Date: October 13\, 2026 \nTime: 11:00am – 12:30pm PT \nThis webinar presents findings from the AAPTP Balanced Mix Design study on the cracking potential of asphalt mixtures for airfield pavements. The session focuses on approaches for assessing an asphalt mixture’s cracking under service conditions. In addition\, the presenters will discuss the development of practical methods for characterizing cracking initiation and progression. Attendees will gain an understanding of how different approaches distinguish mixtures with varying cracking potential\, how the findings were validated using field performance data\, and considerations for future implementation. \nAttendees will able to: \n\nExplain the mechanisms of load-related cracking in airfield asphalt pavements and why cracking potential is an important consideration in balanced mix design.\nDescribe practical approaches for evaluating the cracking progression of asphalt mixtures.\nDiscuss how cracking potential evaluation can be incorporated into balanced mix design and quality assurance/quality control practices for airfield pavements.
