Through this course\, participants are exposed to various strategies for addressing road weather problems\, including Road Weather Information Systems (RWIS) and the development of crosscutting decision support systems to respond effectively to weather situations. In addition\, road weather solutions unique to maintenance management\, traffic management\, traveler information\, and emergency management are discussed. \nThe goal of the course is to introduce how weather impacts roadway operations and maintenance and road weather management strategies that can be used to mitigate those impacts. \n

As a follow-up to previous sessions where we discussed traffic signs and pavement markings\, we’ll begin with an overview of the new 11th Edition MUTCD and highlight important changes to signs\, pavement markings\, speed limits\, bikes and buses\, and other areas of the manual that local communities should be aware of.\n\nTarget Audience:\nMunicipal and State officials\, Public Works Professionals\, anyone responsible for the adoption\, implementation\, and maintenance of pavement markings and traffic controls.\n\nAfter registration you will receive a Zoom link for this class in your registration confirmation email.\n\nAccommodations for Disabilities: UMTC endeavors to provide an inclusive learning environment for all.
