DESCRIPTION:A transportation utility fee (TUF)\, also known as a street maintenance fee\, road user fee\, or street utility fee\, is an important tool for funding the repair and maintain for the preservation of streets\, upgrade sidewalks and add or improve pedestrian safety features and curbs\, as well as comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. \nFHWA has recently published a TUF Primer that provides information for State departments of transportation and local public agencies to consider implementing a TUF. The primer provides practical information on what TUFs are and examples of how municipalities are using them. It also provides points for consideration when thinking about instituting a TUFs program\, such as the favorability of the legal and regulatory environment for TUFs\, as well as whether and how TUFs can be used for financing. SUMMARY:Road Safety Champion Program Core Module #3: Introduction to Traffic Safety Culture
DESCRIPTION:This training introduces growing positive traffic safety culture to significantly improve road safety in America. Participants will leave the training with a better understanding of the elements that shape traffic safety culture\, how those factors interact to affect behaviors related to traffic safety\, strategies that can be implemented to improve traffic safety culture among various groups\, and ideas about how they can leverage their role (and the role of others) in growing a positive traffic safety culture. \nThe National Center for Rural Road Safety will host all seven core modules of the RSCP on Tuesdays starting March 14th and running until April 25th. \nNOTE: \n\nThese trainings will use Zoom. Please ensure Zoom is on your “safe” email list before registering to ensure you receive the link to attend.\nThese trainings are part of the RSCP\, so the recording WILL NOT be made available to registrants.
