SUMMARY:FHWA Every Day Counts Webinar: Project Bundling "How to"  Virtual Peer Exchange
DESCRIPTION:The purpose of this virtual peer exchange is to encourage tribes and local public agencies (LPAs) to take advantage of efficiencies created by project bundling. With the passage of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL)\, project bundling becomes even more relevant and important. The BIL specifically mentions project bundling and bridge bundling as alternative contracting methods for enhanced program delivery and encourages agencies to establish clear procedures for these methods so the known benefits might be more consistently realized. \nThe Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) would like to help tribes and LPAs make bundling a routine process for saving time\, money\, and resources\, especially as additional funds from the BIL are rolled out. \nIf you are part of a tribe or LPA and work in planning/programming\, design\, construction\, or asset management\, don’t miss this worthwhile event! We will also highlight several LPA and State DOT project bundling case studies. \nSession 2 \nTuesday\, May 24\, 2022\, 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm (CT) \nTribal/LPA Case Studies—This session will feature presentations from the Pawnee Nation and Pueblo of Acoma tribes including project bundling experiences and lessons learned. \nSession 3 \nWednesday\, May 25\, 2022\, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm (CT) \nStrategic Planning for Tribes and LPAs—This session will begin with presentations from the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes and conclude with an overview of how to strategically plan for project bundling. \nSession 4 \nWednesday\, May 25\, 2022\, 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm (CT) \nDeveloping Bundling Action Plans—Participants will receive a template and learn how to create their own Bundling Action Plan. \nTo explore bundling resources\, please visit the FHWA Bundled Facilities page.

DESCRIPTION:An asphalt perpetual pavement\, properly designed and constructed\, lasts longer than 50 years without requiring major structural rehabilitation or reconstruction\, and needs only periodic surface renewal in response to distress confined to the top of the pavement. This webinar will discuss material and design selection\, current perpetual pavement thickness practices\, and present the latest award-winning perpetual pavements. \nAttendees will be able to:\n1. Design criteria needed to achieve an asphalt perpetual pavement.\n2. Understand pavement concepts to compute maximum pavement thicknesses.\n3. Use modern computational design tools for perpetual pavements.\n4. See the latest award-winning perpetual pavements. \nProfessional engineers (PEs) who register and attend the entire webinar as an individual will be awarded up to 1.5 Professional Development Hours (PDHs). APA/NAPA’s webinar program awards PDH credits only to the registered individual\, and not to other members of a group that view the webinar together.
