SUMMARY:PPRA/FHWA Webinar: Asphalt Emulsions 201 Beyond the Basics
DESCRIPTION:In 2020\, PPRA/FHWA provided an excellent webinar introducing the basics of asphalt emulsion chemistry and the manufacturing of asphalt emulsions. This presentation will build on that platform and look deeper into the main components of asphalt and their contribution to performance as well as at the state of the art chemistries now being used and the various properties imparted. We will look at how asphalt binder and emulsifiers affect such properties as surface area and surface tension and how this impacts emulsion stability\, properties like viscosity\, aggregate interaction and wetting properties. \n  \nJoin Sallie Houston\, Arkema-Road Science\, and Dr. Andrew Braham\, University of Arkansas\, for some next level discussion on asphalt emulsions.
