SUMMARY:Illinois LTAP: Highway Safety Barrier Installation\, Inspection\, and Maintenance Online Training
DESCRIPTION:November 16\, 17\, and 18\, from 7:00 am to 10:00 am Pacific Time – up to 9 PDHs \nThis course is intended for inspectors and contractors with the appropriate information needed to enhance the probability of optimal barrier installations. Specifically\, participants should have a better understanding of the following after attending this course: \n\nBasic highway barrier design principles for an understanding of HOW/WHY the barrier is designed and should be installed.\nIdentify possible deficiencies in new barrier designs or existing installations.\nAvoid common errors in barrier and terminal installations to optimize crash performance and reduce liability.\nKnow whether damaged hardware can still function as intended and possible remedial actions.

SUMMARY:Minnesota LTAP: Snow and Ice Control Material Application webinar
DESCRIPTION:This CTAP workshop helps determine the correct chemical and proper application rates based on the weather and pavement temperature for using salt and sand most effectively. Participants will learn that\, in some cases\, using less material can improve the level of service. Various anti-icing and deicing chemicals will be discussed\, focusing on how they work\, application rates\, costs\, and storage issues. Participants will also learn how anti-icing and prewetting can reduce the amount of salt used while improving the level of service. Using this training can help you reduce environmental impacts of road maintenance while maintaining safety. \nTopics Covered\n• Quantifiable performance measures\n• Minimizing environmental impacts/sustainability\n• How deicers work\n• Technology and innovation \nThis CTAP training includes a portion of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency snow and ice control training. A voluntary test and certificate are offered and administered by MPCA. The CTAP and LTAP programs are not responsible for the MPCA certificate program.
