DESCRIPTION:This course is limited to personnel employed by northern Nevada agencies. \nLaborers’ Local 169 co-sponsors this 4-hour certification course\, which has been approved by the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) and covers procedures for flaggers working on NDOT projects. All flaggers on these projects must have a certification of training in their possession while working. DESCRIPTION:Chainsaws are widely used throughout the world. They’re used in wide variety of industries such as commercial\, residential\, arborist\, road maintenance\, property maintenance\, ground operations\, and bucket truck operations. Chainsaws can be very useful\, but it important to remember they can also be very dangerous. Every year\, numerous chainsaw operators and bystanders are seriously injured and killed due to chainsaw accidents. A large majority of these statistics could have been prevented by learning and practicing proper chainsaw safety. During this presentation\, we will discuss chainsaw maintenance procedures\, how to select and properly use personal protective equipment\, and how to safely operate the chainsaw to reduce the risk of injury.
