DESCRIPTION:Join NAPA for a unique presentation on asphalt parking lot pavements. Parking lot pavements have significant differences than traditional roadway pavements. Material types\, mix design technique\, and construction practices will be discussed to improve service life and reduce maintenance costs. Asphalt mix designs are extremely important for low volume\, parking lot mixtures. The importance of sufficient voids in mineral aggregates\, or VMA will be outlined with effective maneuvers\, both in the lab and field to achieve higher VMA. With larger area footprints\, unstable subgrades are common during construction of parking lot pavements. Therefore\, we will equip you with mitigation methods for dealing with poor subgrades\, combined with effective methods of in place density and appropriate compaction.
