SUMMARY:Louisiana LTAP 3-Part Webinar: LPA Qualification Core Training – Part 2
DESCRIPTION:This is a training requirement for all project sponsors and their consultants to be qualified to participate in the state and federal programs on future transportation projects. \nThe LPA Training Program was developed and implemented jointly by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD)\, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Louisiana Division\, and the Louisiana Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP). The primary goal of the program is to increase the efficiency of project delivery for local transportation projects that utilize state and federal funds by helping local agency personnel understand and implement requirements associated with these programs.

SUMMARY:Solving ADA Design Challenges – Session 2
DESCRIPTION:This free 4-hour online course introduces the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) design requirements and guidelines for public rights-of-way. The course also discusses design challenges and options\, based on engineering design guidelines\, for engineers and designers. The course runs from 9-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. PT with a 2-hour break in between. \nFamiliarity with the U.S. Access Board’s draft Proposed Guidelines for Pedestrian Facilities in the Public Right-of-Way is recommended\, but not required\, prior to attending this course. This publication may be downloaded at: http://www.access-board.gov/guidelines-and-standards/streets-sidewalks/public-rights-of-way/proposed-rights-of-way-guidelines. \nParticipants may send examples of design challenges to meeting standards and guidelines for accessible design. Please send maps\, photos\, and or descriptions to brooke.struve@dot.gov 2 weeks before the start of class. \nThis course is intended for transportation agency staff who design\, construct\, or inspect public rights-of-way for ADA compliance.
